Flipside 1.1 is all about helping your content stand out!

We're excited to bring you an update today focused on improving visibility of your content, and quality of life improvements (aka bug fixes).

Specifically, we merged the Spotlight and Explore tabs into one so there's now one main feed of your content that everyone will see right when they first visit Flipside.

We also improved Messages so that the full message text is visible without having to click to reveal, which is just the first part of many improvements we have planned for Messages.

Flipside Studio is now on Pico!

We’re excited to announce that Flipside Studio is now available on the Pico VR app store for Pico 4 users. This is our first platform expansion outside of Meta Quest and Rift, and is part of our plan to reach users everywhere.

Share spatial posts with friends!

Sharing is caring, and now it’s even easier to share posts with friends. Find the easy sharing options in the main menu to share your favorite posts with all your friends in Flipside.

We’ve seen lots of creations with the new Steamboat Willie character and set available in Flipside! If you see a cool post (especially one with these new assets), share it with your friends!

Easier Reporting

We’ve added the ability to flag inappropriate posts within Flipside. This is part of our commitment to ensuring a safe and responsible creative environment for all users.

Walking and Steamboat Willie in the latest Flipside Studio update!

Walking is Here!

Flipside Studio 2023.2.3 adds much-anticipated walking! Now you can walk anywhere on set using the joystick on your controller.

To try it out, press B on your right-hand controller to toggle from teleport to walk, then point the joystick in the direction you want to move!

This update also includes some great features!

	Simplified Recordings menu We want to make it even easier for you to create! We can’t wait for you to check out the now-simplified recordings menu!

	Improvements to content ratings We shared this in the last update where creators can now specify a content rating when posting to their channels. We encourage you to use these ratings to guide and supervise the online activities of younger users. This is part of our commitment to ensuring a safe and responsible creative environment for all users.

Flipside Studio Early Access is here!

We’re thrilled to invite next-gen creators to join Flipside Studio's Early Access release. It’s a new era in immersive creation.

Early Access participants can create, watch, and share fun and exciting posts with the virtual reality community and even remix them by adding their own elements. Whether it's a quick dance, an elaborate theatrical performance, or even a special remix of a shared post, all you need is a Meta Quest 2 or Rift S headset and some imagination to become a Flipside Studio creator.

We can't wait to see what you create! Our mission is to enable everyone to perform and share immersive experiences with the world.

Early Access is available to all next-gen creators and their fans who have a Meta Quest 2 or Rift S.

Audio controller: Bring music, sound effects, and even use audio clips as your character’s voice using the new audio controller. We provide a library of built-in sounds and you can also import your own through the Creator Portal.

Flipside Studio update 2023.1.7 - Hide, mute, and delete parts, new avatars and sets, and more!

🙈Hide, 🙊mute, and 🗑️delete parts!

We love seeing what you do with multipart recording and this update includes improvements to this feature! We’ve added the ability to hide, mute, and delete parts in an existing recording! This means you can modify existing recordings to add, remove, or redo parts. This update makes it easier to build your perfect scene!

🤝New sets!

Our new Meet and Greet set is perfect for your VR creations. Check out this double feature! We loved using the Meet and Greet sets following the release of these two major blockbusters.

It’s a Barbie-Oppenheimer World! Give these sets a try, share using #MadeInFlipside, and let us know if you’re #TeamBarbie or #TeamOppenheimer!

🥕Congrats to our Winner!

Comedic carrot wins it all! Congratulations to Bill Eckman, winner of the AI Script creator contest. His video, Can Vegetables Be Funny, made us laugh and was a great showcase of the AI Script creator tool, powered by OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

🔖What’s included in this Flipside Studio update?

Improvements to multipart recording: We’ve added the ability to hide, mute and delete parts in an existing recording.

New sets and characters: We’ve got Meet and Greet sets and a Balloon wall set for you to create with. And an additional 100 avatars will help tell your story!

Bug fixes and improvements:

Cameras added during a recording no longer get duplicated during playback
Improvements to audio consistency when adding parts
Fix to issues with updating sets
Fixed a case where a user could get stuck in a chair and appear to be planking

🔖 What’s included in this Flipside Studio update?

AI Script Creator (beta): Describe the situation and the style you’re looking for and let the AI Script Creator (beta) develop a script for you. This new tool is powered by OpenAI’s ChatGPT and you’ll find it in the teleprompter in the main menu of Flipside Studio.

New characters, set, and props: Use the uploaded characters from the 100 Avatars asset pack in the Command Deck set, along with new sci-fi props in your creations!

Bug fixes and improvements:

Improvements to characters’ posture while sitting
Fixes to character rotation issues when playing back a recording
Fix to issues with loading project scripts in a multiplayer session
