Controller basics

Grabbing objects

To pick up/grab an object or menu item in Flipside, place either hand over the object and squeeze the grip/lower trigger and index trigger buttons on a controller.

Selecting an item / using an object

To select a menu item, let go of the index trigger then squeeze it again while holding the item. This is the same as using a prop, for example, to draw with the magic pencil prop.

Pressing buttons

To press a button, point your index finger with the controller in hand and press the virtual button in the same way you would in the real world.

Resizing objects

To resize an object, grab the object with both hands then move your hands closer together or further apart to resize the object.

Teleporting

The teleporter enables you to move beyond your tracking space in order to move anywhere on your sets.

Right joystick

 

To teleport around your sets, push the right hand joystick forward and aim your controller where you want to end up.

If you decide to cancel teleporting, simply release the joystick without pressing the index trigger.

To teleport, press the index trigger.

Teleporter arrow

 

Change the direction you'll be facing after teleporting by moving the joystick forward, back, left, or right. The green arrow attached to the circle will indicate what direction you'll be facing.

Facial expressions

Left joystick

 

To control the facial expressions of your character, use the left hand joystick. The directions map as follows:

  • Up means Happy :)
  • Down means Sad :(
  • Left means Surprised :O
  • Right means Angry >:(
